According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, the number of tourists during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2026 increased by 11.84% compared to the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of more than 20,900 visitors.
Among the total number of visitors to Vinh Long, international visitors are estimated at 13,981, an increase of 17.2% over the same period. Total revenue from tourism activities reached about 199.7 billion VND, an increase of 26.6 billion VND compared to the same period of 173.1 billion VND.
The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments in the area reaches about 70 - 75%. Some establishments recorded 100% room occupancy rate, while room rates are basically stable, implementing the listed prices correctly.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Duong Hoang Sum - Director of Vinh Long Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that during the holiday, Vinh Long organizes many cultural, artistic, sports, entertainment activities to serve people and tourists. Many programs associated with history, culture and local characteristics are being implemented.
Tourist areas, attractions, accommodation establishments, and travel businesses proactively upgrade facilities, build new products, promotional programs, diversify experiences in gardens, craft villages, relics, folk games and check-in for Ba Dong sea wind power.
Notably, the program "Essence of Coconut Country Cuisine 2026" in Phu Tan ward attracts tourists with the festival space, rustic dishes and activities to set Vietnamese records for goi cu hu Dua.
According to Mr. Sum, promotional activities are being promoted on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Fanpage and smart tourism portals. The international delegation within the framework of ITE HCMC 2026 also surveyed and experienced tourism products in Vinh Long.
Before and during the holidays, functional sectors strengthen inspection of tourism operating conditions, security and order, fire prevention and fighting, food safety, wharves and vehicles serving tourists.
