Vinh Long sets a record of 135 unique dishes from tea sticks

Vinh Long - Tea tea, a famous specialty of Binh Minh Town, has just made a special mark on the culinary map of Vietnam when it set a national record with 135 culinary dishes.

On April 12, within the framework of the Vinh Long Province Culture, Sports and Tourism Week 2025, celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification, the Tea Festival took place enthusiastically at Dong Thanh Secondary and High School, Binh Minh Town.

The event is not only an opportunity to honor the specialty fruit that has been associated with the local people for generations, but also to perform an impressive performance to establish a Vietnam Record with 135 unique dishes, the main ingredients of which are ripe Binh Minh tea sticks, golden golden shoots, canties, and characteristic mild fragrance.

This is the first time Vinh Long has organized a large-scale event to honor tea sticky rice. In addition to creating opportunities for people and tourists to directly enjoy fresh tea sticks and explore the diversity of processing.

Speaking at the festival, Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh emphasized that setting a Vietnamese record with 135 dishes from tea leaves is not only an activity to promote local cuisine but also a recognition and appreciation of the creative and diligent labor spirit of Binh Minh farmers in particular and Vinh Long in general - a land rich in historical traditions.

This event affirms the value of labor efforts, while enriching the culinary and cultural life of the people in the new era.

The success of the festival has included the tea bar in the list of specialties with strong local identity, along with Nam Roi grapefruit and hu Ky - a national intangible cultural heritage. All contribute to creating a unique cultural - tourism picture for Binh Minh town and Vinh Long province.

Through the tea tea Festival, Vinh Long hopes that Dong Thanh commune, the main tea bar growing area, will become an attractive tourist destination, attracting domestic and foreign tourists.

"This is also an important step in realizing the goal of welcoming 2.15 million visitors and achieving tourism revenue of VND1,150 billion in 2025 of the province, towards sustainable agricultural development, closely linked with tourism and traditional culture", the leader of the Provincial People's Committee added.
