The Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups organizes a series of activities "Happy Independence Day" on the occasion of National Day September 2nd.

From August 29 to September 30, 2026, the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Doai Phuong commune, Hanoi) organizes a series of activities with the theme "Happy Independence Day", celebrating the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The program is implemented by the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups in coordination with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang, Son La, Da Nang city provinces and more than 100 people from 16 ethnic groups who are regularly operating in the Village.

The highlight of the 5-day holiday, from August 29 to September 2, is the space of the Northern Highland Market with the theme "Cao Nguyen opens festival". About 40 booths introduce traditional products and cuisine of the Northwest and Northeast regions such as colored sticky rice, highland banh cuon, thang co, corn wine... directly performed by Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao, Thai ethnic groups in the Village.

Visitors can enjoy the Lion Cat dance of the Nung ethnic group - a national intangible cultural heritage, folk songs and dance programs "Happy Independence Day" and Mong khen performances. Three traditional rituals are also recreated, including the Nung people's Festival of praying for harvests, excerpts from the Dao people's Bridal procession and the Thai people's New Rice Celebration.

From September 19-20, Gie Trieng ethnic village organized a thematic program "Radiant Villages", with the participation of about 30 Gie Trieng people from Da Nang. The highlight is the Hundred Rice Offering Ceremony held on the morning of September 20 and the exchange program "Colors of the Great Forest", introducing folk songs, folk dances, and traditional musical instruments of Gie Trieng people and Central Highlands ethnic groups.

In September, weekend programs continue to be organized in many spaces such as "Cao Nguyen celebrates Independence Day", "Call of Love Season", Peace Prayer Ceremony for Central Highlands ethnic groups and exchange program "Vitality of the Great Forest" at the Central Highlands Sculpture Garden.

Every day from 8 am to 5 pm, more than 100 people in 16 ethnic villages such as Nung, Tay, Mong, Dao, Muong, Thai, Ba Na, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Co Tu, Raglai, E De, Khmer... introduce traditional culture through musical instrument performances, folk songs, folk dances, folk games, handicrafts and cuisine.

Visitors can directly participate in activities such as throwing con, stilt walking, bamboo dancing, learning to play gongs, brocade weaving, weaving and experiencing ethnic cuisine.

In addition, the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups continues to organize experiential programs "Footprints of Villages", "Returning to the Great Highlands of the Central Highlands" and a 2-day 1-night journey. The programs help tourists explore more deeply the cultural space in ethnic villages, the lake area on the mountain, the fishing village, the ancestral worship ritual space and the Creation Camp.

The "Happy Independence Day" series of activities is organized to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese ethnic communities, and at the same time create more destinations and experiences for the people of the Capital and domestic and international tourists during National Day and September.
