On April 24, Vung Tau Ward People's Committee (HCMC) said that in the first months of 2026, tourism activities in the area continue to be vibrant, growing positively and stably; continuing to be an important sector contributing to local economic growth.
In the first 3 months of 2026, Vung Tau ward welcomed about 1.5 million visitors for sightseeing, relaxation, and swimming. The number of visitors to Vung Tau has increased by about 25% compared to the same period last year.
This also increases revenue in the accommodation and catering sectors. In the first quarter, total revenue is estimated at about 1,970 billion VND, equal to 26.72% of the annual plan. This result shows that the attractiveness of Vung Tau destination continues to be maintained well, welcoming a large number of tourists on weekends and festivals...
According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, to achieve this, the locality has proactively organized cultural activities, festivals, events... right from the beginning of the year. In addition, maintain good management and rescue of beaches; ensure environmental sanitation and security and order at beaches.
Vung Tau is also building a long-term development platform through the implementation of infrastructure projects, urban embellishment and tourism, through projects called for investment in the 2026 - 2030 period, and construction in the area in 2026 to contribute to improving the quality of infrastructure serving people and tourists. This is also the basis for Vung Tau to strive to complete the target of service - tourism - trade ratio reaching 78.4% in 2026.
In the coming time, Vung Tau will continue to orient tourism development towards green, quality, smart and unique identity; focus on effectively exploiting product groups "Sea - Streets", "Fisher Culture", "Night Streets and Health"; promote the system of relics, festivals, marine cultural spaces...
The locality will also propose that Ho Chi Minh City leaders pay attention to projects and works with large connectivity and spillover effects such as: Vung Tau International Passenger Port, Vung Tau - Can Gio connecting infrastructure; or allow the exploitation of public land funds to serve tourism and service spaces, coastal events... Thereby contributing to promoting the advantages of Vung Tau, improving the competitiveness of destinations and promoting stronger and more sustainable tourism development in the coming time.
