Xuan Thuy National Park (NP) was established to preserve the wetland ecosystem in the coastal estuary area - one of the ecosystems with particularly important biological and socio-economic value.
This is the core area of the Red River Delta Biosphere Reserve. This is also the first Ramsar area of Vietnam, a place that converges high biodiversity with hundreds of aquatic bird species, including many rare, endangered and globally conservative species.
With its location on the international water bird migration route in the East Asia - Oceania flight corridor, Xuan Thuy National Park is not only meaningful to Vietnam but also plays an important role in the biodiversity conservation network of the region and the world.
According to Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Dung, Xuan Thuy National Park has affirmed its position as a typical wetland conservation area of Vietnam and the region. In the coming time, Ninh Binh province will continue to direct functional agencies and localities to strengthen forest protection, ecosystem conservation and biodiversity, especially rare animal and plant species, migratory bird species with high conservation value; and at the same time improve the efficiency of management and supervision of activities in the National Park area.
In addition, strengthen propaganda and environmental education, especially for the younger generation, to raise the sense of responsibility of the whole society in protecting natural resources and biodiversity. Promote scientific research and international cooperation, strengthen exchange of experiences with heritage gardens in the ASEAN region to improve management capacity, conservation and sustainable development of the wetland ecosystem.
In the coming time, develop ecotourism associated with conservation, rationally exploit the landscape potential and unique ecosystem of Xuan Thuy National Park, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese nature to international friends, and creating resources for long-term conservation work. Link conservation work with sustainable livelihood development for local communities, raise people's awareness of environmental protection and nature conservation; gradually develop economic models.
