This year's tournament brings together 24 teams, with the participation of more than 1,000 players who are former full-time students of the University of Science and Technology. 24 teams will be divided into 2 separate branches: over 40 and under 40 years old.
After 1 month of competition, the 4 most outstanding representatives have entered the Serie A Final of the BKA Champions League Cup Decofi 2025 football tournament, including: Construction Football Team 2000 and Mechanical Team 2000 in the over 40 year old tournament. In the under 40 age competition, there will be a final match between the Electrical students and the Information Technology students.
In the final result, the 2000 Construction team defeated the 2000 Mechanical team on penalties with a score of 5-3 after the two teams drew 1-1 in the two main rounds. With this result, the 2000 Construction team won the championship in the over 40 year old event. Meanwhile, the Information Technology Veterans team beat the Electrical Veterans with a score of 2-0 thanks to a double from Phan Huynh Quy to be crowned in the under40 age category.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Hoang Viet An, representative of the Organizing Committee, presented 150 million VND to the tuition promotion fund and the student support fund for students in difficult circumstances of the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
It is known that in the coming time, the Veterans Football Club of the University of Science and Technology will host the Vietnam Veterans Football Tournament for the first time, gathering 8 Veterans football teams from 8 National Universities to participate.
