On the morning of November 30, the AgriCup 2024 football tournament - HACAS Cup officially opened at Nhat Minh Football Field, Hoang Liet, Hoang Mai, Hanoi.
The event was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper and to welcome the 2nd Congress of the Hanoi Agricultural Chemicals Association, bringing together 12 teams from agencies, businesses, and units in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector.
Starting in 2017 with only 4 teams, AgriCup has grown into a prestigious grassroots tournament in the agricultural industry. Champions over the years include HACAS (2017), Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper (2018) and Vietnam Academy of Agriculture (2020).
After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2024 season marks a strong return with the largest number of participating teams ever.
According to the organizers, this year's AgriCup 2024 - HACAS Cup tournament not only creates a useful playground for sports lovers in the industry, but is also an opportunity to promote the importance of physical training, aiming to improve the quality of life and respond to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
In terms of format, the teams are divided into 4 groups, including:
Table A: ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company, Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension, ADI Agricultural Investment, Trade and Development Joint Stock Company.
Group B: Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Agricultural General Hospital, Mavin Group Joint Stock Company.
Table C: Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, Hanoi Agricultural Chemicals Association (HACAS), Dabaco Chicken Breeding Company Limited.
Group D: Joint venture of Plant Protection Department - Hanoi Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, Southern Plant Protection Joint Venture, Agribank.
The tournament takes place in a round-robin format in the group stage, then the top two teams in each group advance to the quarter-finals, from which the teams will compete in a knockout round to determine the champion.
The tournament applies the 7-a-side football rules according to the regulations of the Vietnam Football Federation, with each team registered with a maximum of 17 players.
Regarding the prizes, the Champion team will receive a Cup, Gold Medal, Honorary Certificate and a prize of 12 million VND; the Runner-up will receive a Silver Medal, Honorary Certificate and a prize of 7 million VND; the Third Prize will receive a Bronze Medal, Honorary Certificate and a prize of 3 million VND.
At the ceremony, Mr. Dam Quang Thang, Chairman of the Hanoi Agricultural Chemicals Association - Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the AriCup 2024 Football Tournament - HACAS Cup said: "This 4th tournament once again affirms the growth of the sports movement of units, agencies and organizations in the agricultural sector".
At the same time, Mr. Dam Quang Thang also asked the players to promote the spirit of solidarity, compete honestly, demonstrate the noble spirit of sportsmanship, create cultural beauty in sports, and contribute to the audience good plays and beautiful goals.
At the end of the opening ceremony, 8 teams were paired into 4 pairs and entered the first round, taking place at 8:45.
At the end of today (November 30), the 8 best teams will enter the Quarterfinals, scheduled to take place tomorrow morning (December 1).
The Semi-Finals, Finals and Third Place Match will take place tomorrow afternoon (December 1).
The closing ceremony and award ceremony of AgriCup 2024 Football - HACAS Cup is scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (December 1) at Muong Thanh Grand Hanoi Event Center, Dai Kim, Hoang Mai, Hanoi.
