On September 12, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province coordinated with the Department of Physical Education and Sports to organize the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Archery Championship at Lam Son Stadium, Vung Tau City.
This is a tournament within the high-performance sports competition system, held annually to test, evaluate the professional level and recognize the achievements of archery athletes nationwide. At the same time, it aims to select excellent athletes to supplement the national archery teams.
This year, the tournament attracted nearly 200 athletes from 18 units, provinces, cities, and sectors across the country. The teams competed for 40 sets of medals for single-string and triple-string bows (men and women) in many distances; with the participation of prominent faces such as: Do Thi Anh Nguyet, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi, Nguyen Duy, Le Quoc Phong...
Responding to the campaign of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with the spirit of "mutual love" and "helping each other", the Organizing Committee of the 2024 National Archery Championship called on delegates; team leaders, coaches, athletes... to donate to support people to overcome the damage and difficulties caused by storm No. 3.
After the opening ceremony, athletes competed in the 50m and 70m events. The 2024 National Archery Championship is expected to last until September 18.
