The Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long-Distance Championship, first held in 1958, has become one of the most prestigious marathons in Vietnam. Over the years, the tournament has not only been a gathering place for excellent athletes but also a playground to help raise awareness of cultural values, sportsmanship and love for the homeland.
Within the framework of this year's tournament, activities such as offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Son cemeteries, Road 9, and Quang Tri ancient citadel created emotional moments, honoring the heroic sacrifices of the soldiers. In addition, activities such as releasing flower lanterns on the Thach Han River and donating gratitude houses to families in difficult circumstances are also special highlights of the tournament.
