On the afternoon of August 14, the national football tournament - TA PHA Cup 2024 was kicked off with a technical meeting and draw in Ho Chi Minh City. In the second season of organization, Phui Football cooperated with TA PHA Group to create a neat and professional playing field for the tournament.
This year's tournament has the participation of 12 hometown teams including: Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Quang Ngai in Group A. Meanwhile in Group B, the only representative in the West is Thang Loi Can Tho will face Quang Nam, Binh Duong, Binh Dinh to compete for the next ticket. Defending champion Song Lam Nghe An is in Group C with rivals STPFood Binh Phuoc, Thai Binh and Lam Dong.
Teams will compete in a round robin to calculate ranking points. The top two teams in each group and the two third-placed teams with the best records will win the right to play in the quarter-finals.
To improve the quality of the tournament, the Organizing Committee does not limit the number of professional players registered to compete. Therefore, there are many stars playing football in V.League such as Que Ngoc Hai, Trong Hoang, Ho Tuan Tai... all have turned on the ready mode to be able to participate in the tournament. Besides, it is impossible not to mention super champions such as King Capdevilar, Hanh Ozil, Long "firewood", Tuan Vinh, or Vietnam Futsal Golden Ball 2018 Vu Quoc Hung also attended.
The winning team of the National Compatriot Football Tournament - TA PHA Cup 2024, in addition to the trophy, gold medal and title board, also receives a bonus of up to 50 million VND. The rewards for the runner-up and 3rd place teams are 30 million and 10 million VND, respectively. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded individual titles such as Top Scorer, Best Player as well as Best Goalkeeper.
The tournament takes place in 2 weeks from August 18 to September 1 at PM Sport soccer field (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
