At the beginning of March 2024, the U19 Hanoi team surpassed many strong opponents such as U19 PVF, U19 The Cong Viettel to win the championship at the National U19 Championship.
The representative of the capital was crowned without relying on 1-2 outstanding individuals in the lineup. They played with a collective style, stability, and effectively exploited the weaknesses of their opponents.
At that time, coach Hoang Anh Tuan commented: "I am not surprised that U19 Hanoi has won the national playground 7 times. Indeed, in terms of domestic expertise, no team is as stable as they are.
Even when U19 Hanoi had to wait until the penalty shootout to resolve the victory, they still had uniformity in force, fitness, and expertise compared to other representatives."
More than 4 months later, Hanoi youth football continued to affirm its position with the championship of the National U17 Championship. This is also the first time in history that the capital team has been crowned at the U17 age group.
Notably, coach Cristiano Roland's team achieved an impressive record of winning all 6 matches.
They defeated Hoang Anh Gia Lai, TPHCM, Tay Ninh (group stage), then overcame Song Lam Nghe An 2-1 in the quarterfinals and Hong Linh Ha Tinh 2-0 in the semifinals. In the final, once again U17 Hanoi won 2-0 against Hoang Anh Gia Lai to be crowned champions.
"I don't think there is anything too special about the U17 Hanoi squad, because we built a united team, the players support and help each other. We set the goal of each match as a final and the whole team achieved it.
When achieving this result, the coaching staff and players were happy. But we must keep our feet on the ground and immediately prepare for the next journey ahead," head coach Cristiano Roland shared after U17 Hanoi won the championship.
The year 2024 is considered a quite successful year for Hanoi youth football. Besides the titles of the U17 and U19 teams, many young players trained by Hanoi also participated and left their mark at various levels of the national team such as Van Truong, Tien Long, Van Tung (U23), Duc Anh, Van Chuan (U20), Dinh Hai (U19), Thien Phu, Nguyen Luc (U16)...
As coach Hoang Anh Tuan once shared, Hanoi FC's youth training system may not have a grand model like PVF or Hoang Anh Gia Lai once did. However, this training system has stability and persistence. That is the formula for the success of the capital team in recent times.
In recent years, Hanoi youth football has selected players from many localities, including the VSH T&T satellite center in Cua Lo (Nghe An) or the latest being the Bac Giang youth training center.
From there, the training process is carried out according to levels from U9, U11, U13, U15 to U17, U19, U21. After the screening process, the best elements will be selected to the Hanoi youth football training center for training.
With abundant and continuously supplemented forces from diverse and quality player sources, in recent years, Hanoi FC has fallen into a state of... "excess".
Besides participating in national championships by age group, Hanoi club also creates conditions for players to participate in other professional and semi-professional tournaments such as the Third Division, Second Division, friendly tournaments, or loaning to other teams to improve their expertise.
Over the past 10 years, Hanoi youth football has gradually developed and affirmed its name. The result of this methodical and professional training process is youth titles, as well as providing players for the V.League playground and national teams.
