At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Education and Training - announced the Decision to recognize the Quy Nhon University School Council, consisting of 19 members.
At the same time, the Decision to recognize Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoan - Chairman of the Board of Quy Nhon University - was announced to continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of the University for the 2025-2030 term.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son sent his congratulations to the members of the School Council for their trust, especially the Chairman of the School Council. He emphasized that Quy Nhon University is one of the three largest multi-disciplinary, key universities in the Central region, with nearly half a century of formation and development.
Currently, the school trains 51 undergraduate majors, 24 master's majors and 3 doctoral majors with a scale of nearly 16,000 full-time students and 800 postgraduate students. At the same time, it is a major scientific research center in the Central region with hundreds of topics and articles published internationally each year, increasingly expanding cooperation with localities, businesses and international organizations.
The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the results of the activities of the School Council for the 2020-2025 term when it has properly performed its functions and tasks according to the Law on Higher Education, creating an institutional foundation for the transition to the university autonomy model.
For the new term, the Deputy Minister suggested that the University Council continue to improve governance capacity in a modern direction, building an effective strategic management system, in line with the national-oriented university model.
In addition, it is necessary to promote the strengths of the South Central Coast region, focus on developing new training majors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry, logistics, etc., taking advantage of the potential for ICISE and interdisciplinary science development.
At the same time, focus on attracting and retaining high-quality intellectuals, encourage the formation of strong research groups, and develop science and technology enterprises in universities.
The Deputy Minister believes that, with a solid foundation from previous terms, along with the spirit of solidarity and determination of the school's collective, Quy Nhon University will continue to strive strongly, not only as a place to train high-quality human resources but also a place to originate many great ideas, making practical contributions to national development and international integration.
Speaking at the ceremony to accept the assignment, on behalf of the School Council for the 2025-2030 term, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoan expressed his gratitude for the trust of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, the leaders of Gia Lai province and the school community. He pledged that the University Council will work wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly, perform well the role of governance, strategic planning and supervision to actively contribute to the sustainable development of Quy Nhon University.
