The School of Management and Business (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was officially awarded the QS Stars 5 Stars for Business Schools certificate by prestigious international education ranking organization QS Quacquarelli Symonds (QS – UK), based on 56 quality evaluation criteria. This is considered an important milestone, marking a prominent step forward of the self-reliant public university model in Vietnam in the process of international integration.
As of May 2026, Vietnam has only had three educational institutions meeting QS Stars 5 Stars standards, including VinUniversity, British University Vietnam and School of Management and Business (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Among them, HSB is the first public school to achieve this certification.
The results achieved are the result of more than 30 years of development under the university autonomy model, along with continuous innovation and international integration. HSB currently pursues two main academic schools of thought including Integrated Business Administration (IMB) and Non-Traditional Security Management (MNS).
According to QS's assessment, HSB stands out in many core criteria such as the ability to connect training with the needs of the labor market, the quality of teaching with learners at the center, training programs according to international standards associated with socio-economic development practices, and a transparent and effective university governance model.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi - Rector of the school - said that QS 5 Stars is not only a recognition of HSB's training quality and university governance capacity, but also affirms the international competitiveness of the self-reliant public university model in Vietnam.
In the coming time, HSB said it will continue to promote digital transformation, develop science and technology, internationalize and connect businesses to train generations of globally capable leaders, entrepreneurs and managers.
Currently, HSB offers 7 bachelor's programs, 3 master's programs and 1 doctoral program, and maintains academic cooperation with many universities in the world's Top 200 QS such as National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, The University of Queensland or Victoria University.
The school aims to be in the Top 100 universities in Asia by 2035 and in the Top 500 universities in the world by 2045.
