The Hoi An Young Leadership Training Program held a first-term summary ceremony, introducing 14 innovative projects developed by high school students, aiming to preserve and promote the values of Hoi An's traditional heritage and craft villages.
Taking place over nearly two months, the program attracted more than 50 students to participate in studying and developing the project. The method of collective learning, empowerment and teamwork was applied throughout 12 training sessions revolving around four pillars: global citizens and indigenous knowledge, project leadership and management skills and community communication.
At the summary ceremony, the trainees presented 14 projects associated with indigenous cultural values such as hut boats, cranes, Dongric crafts, Kim Bong carpentry, etc. The project "Kim Bong Du Ca" won the highest prize, with the idea of developing village community tourism and the flood season journey in the Cam Kim area.
Two other outstanding projects are "Cham La Cham Lanh" - developing Asian cultural tourism, and "Neo Chai" - building a digital library to store the songs of the raincoats. The projects are highly appreciated for their creativity, feasibility and attachment to the characteristics of Hoi An.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam - Deputy Director in charge of the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center said that according to the results of the survey of trainees after the program, the multilateral cooperation model and the structure of taking global citizen skills as the center, taking local knowledge as the foundation, empowering and colleagues as the organization method have achieved positive results.
Nearly 79% of students believe that they have improved their teamwork skills. Other skills that have also improved significantly are effective communication (68.4%), critical thinking (68.4%) and self-awareness and emotional management (55.3%).
"Many students expressed their love for the Magical Leaderss training framework because it helps them practice their emotional management skills, presentation and become more confident when leading themselves and their teams.
The field trip to Kim Bongctional Village is also highly appreciated for bringing practical experiences, opening up vision and urging students to take action to preserve craft villages and Hoi An heritages. ", Ms. Cam emphasized.
With those results, the Hoi An Young Leadership Training Program has actively contributed to the project "Promoting innovation for young people and the community" sponsored by UN-Habitat and fondation Botnar, aiming to realize the goal of developing Hoi An into a creative, inclusive urban area and putting people at the center.
After the program, students have the opportunity to participate in the Hoi An Innovation Youth Club, continue to develop potential projects to become model products, and accompany local organizations and businesses to implement innovation projects in the Hoi An area in particular and Da Nang City in general.
