On April 29, Dong Thap University (DThU) held the inauguration ceremony of the Aspiration Building. This is one of 44 national key projects and works selected by the Government to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Attending were Mr. Le Minh Hoan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Le Tan Dung - Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Dong Thap People's Committee and a large number of leaders, former leaders of the province, guests inside and outside the province and officials, lecturers and students of the school.
Reporting at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Van Thong - Rector DTU said that the building was started construction on April 7, 2024, after 386 days was completed and put into use. "The building is built on the gentle Tien River, with a scale of 9 floors, built on an area of 900m² and has a floor area of about 7,890 m²"- Mr. Thong emphasized- "9 floors to the symbol of 9 dragons, 9 rivers of the Mekong Delta region".
This will be a center for learning - research - integration, a place to enlight knowledge, and unleash creativity for today's and future generations of students.
On this occasion, DThU also announced many important decisions: was awarded a Certificate of Land Use Rights by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province with a total area of: 75,647 m2 (land for building educational and training facilities); recognized as a key university in the Mekong Delta region and one of 14 key educational institutions for teacher training in the country.
These are important milestones, affirming the quality and reputation of the School in the education cause. To date, DThU has organized enrollment for 50 undergraduate majors, 18 master's majors, and 03 doctoral majors. Of which, there are 19 teacher training majors, with all majors according to the current General Education Program. In addition to pedagogical majors, the School also trains in many fields such as: Economics, Tourism, Information Technology, English Language, Chinese Language, Natural Resources and Environment Management and many majors suitable for development trends and labor needs of society.
On this occasion, the Principal of DThU also assigned the task to Dong Thap University of Education - a school that trains teachers for all majors and levels in the national education system.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung affirmed that the inauguration ceremony of the DThU Tharing Building - "9,-storey building" is a particularly important event in the 50-year journey of training teachers and educational managers at all levels and more than 22 years of building, integrating and developing multi-disciplinary universities...
Therefore, the Deputy Minister hopes that the school community will unite and unify the effective use of the project to build and develop DThU into a high-quality scientific training and research center in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan said that with its modern appearance, this is not only an architectural work, not only a place to place offices, meeting rooms, lectures... but will also be the "heart" that determines the heartbeat on the journey to innovate educational thinking more strongly.
And this is also the place to awaken and lead the transformation from "transmission to exploration", from "teaching to suggestive", from "learning because the score to study to live valuable". "With the name of aspiration, this building will spread the desire to connect human knowledge, the desire to promote international cooperation, the desire to nurture the spirit of starting a business ... so that there will be many young people coming out from here not only a job seeker, but a person who creates job opportunities, the future creator"- Mr. Hoan expected.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan also presented gifts and a document with the content: " Open your heart to nurture, slowly open your heart" to the representative of DThU's leadership. The Coordinating Office of the Project "Learning with Xich Lo" awarded a scholarship to participate in "affiliate Training Camp" - Subject "Gen Xanh Dong Thap - Digital skills in local agricultural product marketing" to DThU.
