On June 1, 5, 1967, Vietnam Education Publishing House (NXBGDVN) was officially established, marking an important milestone in the education cause.
From the predecessor, the thubuilding further (1950 and the thubuilding board (1996) under the Ministry of Education, to date, NXBGDVN has developed into the largest publishing house in the country, with nearly 40 member companies and contributed capital.
Throughout its journey of nearly seven decades, VGDN Publishing House has always been a pioneer in compiling, designing, printing and distributing textbooks (SGK), promptly meeting the requirements of educational reform.
In particular, since the 2018 General Education Program was implemented according to the "one program, many textbooks" model, NXBGDVN has entered a market competition mechanism.
The two typical book series "Connecting knowledge with life" and "Creative foot in the sky" published by NXBGDVN are currently widely chosen by teachers and students.
In 2024, the book series "Connecting knowledge with life" decreased in price by 9.6% and "Creative Sky" decreased by 11.2% - a deep decrease compared to the general level. This reduces the pressure on parents and students at the beginning of the new school year.
At the same time, Vietnam Education Publishing House always fulfills its social responsibility through many practical activities: Donating books and scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, supporting community libraries, building gratitude houses, serving Vietnamese Heroic Mothers...
In 2024, the total budget for social and charity activities of NXBGDVN will reach 31 billion VND.
Diversify products, transform digitally and strive strongly
Not only publishing textbooks, VNA also invests in producing high-quality books such as "Dai Nam Thuc Luc", "Tinh hoac Van Dong", "Uncle Ho with Education", British and book dictionary Britannica, Vietnamese - Lao - Vietnamese dictionary... and recently works such as "Hello tieng Viet", "Uncle Ho in Thailand", "Uncle Ho Chi Minh" - with rich cultural and educational values, winning many national book awards.
In addition, to serve the development of mountainous education, over the past 68 years, the Vietnam Education Publishing House has always paid attention to ethnic books. Many ethnic language learning books have been published such as Mong, Khmer, Thai, Bahnar, Cham; Vietnamese dictionaries for ethnic students and many valuable bilingual dictionaries, etc.
In addition, from 2022, NXBGDVN will coordinate with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to implement the "Vietnamese Bookshelf" initiative. To date, 11 bookcases have been established in 9 countries and territories. This initiative has just won the Second Prize at the 2024 National Award for Foreign Information.
Entering the 4.0 era, to meet the increasingly diverse needs of readers, NXBGDVN is implementing strong digital transformation. Electronic textbooks and teacher training documents have been posted for free on the website https://taphuan.nxbgd.vn. Many modern digital learning platforms such as dulieuso.nxbgd.vn, hoclieuso.nxgd.vn are being developed, promising to build a comprehensive digital education ecosystem, serving students and teachers nationwide.
