Quang Ngai accelerates the progress of 4 ethnic minority boarding schools serving the new school year

Quang Ngai is accelerating the construction progress of 4 ethnic minority boarding schools in border communes, expected to be completed before the 2026-2027 school year.

On June 4, Ms. Y Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to and give opinions on the implementation of investment in building inter-level boarding primary and secondary schools in land border communes.

According to a report by the Department of Education and Training, in 2026, the total capital allocated for 4 inter-level ethnic minority boarding primary and secondary school projects in 4 border communes of Mo Rai, Duc Nong, Ro Koi and Sa Loong is 495.737 billion VND. To date, the projects have disbursed 212.892 billion VND, reaching 42.9% of the capital plan. The construction progress of the projects has reached 41 - 73% of the volume.

In which, the Ro Koi commune inter-level boarding primary and secondary school project reached about 73% of the construction volume, disbursement rate reached 63.6%; Duc Nong commune reached 66% of the volume, disbursement rate reached 33.7%; Sa Loong commune reached 59% of the volume, disbursement rate reached 87.3%; Mo Rai commune reached 41% of the volume, disbursement rate reached 19.8%.

It is expected that the works will be completed, accepted and handed over for use before August 30, 2026 to serve the 2026 - 2027 school year.

In phase 2, the province continues to implement 5 inter-level boarding general education school projects for primary and secondary schools in communes: Bo Y, Dak Long, Dak Polo, Ia Toi, Ia Dal. Currently, localities have completed many procedures on planning, general ground, surveys, project dossiers and are implementing investment preparation and site clearance steps.

At the meeting, localities, investors and related units also raised difficulties and obstacles in site clearance, lack of capital, construction personnel and the impact of weather on the progress of project implementation.

Speaking to direct at the meeting, Ms. Y Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactiveness and sense of responsibility of departments, agencies, branches, localities, especially investors in implementing tasks.

For 4 projects in phase 1, Ms. Y Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that investors strengthen inspection, supervision, and urge contractors to take advantage of favorable weather to accelerate construction progress.

For the 5 phase 2 projects, Ms. Y Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training to closely coordinate with investors and localities in the investment preparation process, ensuring scale, technical standards, efficiency and economy. At the same time, regularly inspect and urge progress, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles to ensure the quality and progress of projects.
