The Hanoi School Psychology Community (under the Hanoi Psychological - Educational Association) has just coordinated with the Vietnam School Psychologists Network to organize a professional activity with the topic: "Skills in recording, storing, managing School Psychology records and Social Work in schools according to Circular 18/2025/TT-BGDĐT".
The program is organized in a combination of direct and online forms, attracting nearly 250 delegates who are scientists, education managers, lecturers, psychologists, social workers and people who are directly working in school counseling at educational institutions.
Speaking at the opening of the program, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Anh - Vice President of the Hanoi Psychological - Educational Association, in charge of the Hanoi School Psychology Community - emphasized that in current educational practice, many difficulties of students and teachers do not stem from learning or teaching abilities, but from psychological problems that have not been identified and supported promptly and professionally.

Ms. Thu Anh believes that school psychology and social work in schools need to be seen as an essential foundation for building a safe, humane and sustainable educational environment.
Sharing at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Head of the Department of Policy for Teachers and Educational Administrators, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) - said that since 2023, the position of student counselor in general education institutions has been officially legalized. This is considered an important step forward, creating a basis for developing a team of school counselors in a systematic way.
However, in reality, at many public educational institutions, this work is still being assigned in a concurrent form. The Ministry of Education and Training is gradually completing policies to develop staff, including in-depth training plans, building a network of core personnel in provinces and cities, and expanding the scope of policies to higher education and vocational education institutions.
School psychological profiles - the "second brain" of professionals

In the in-depth sharing section, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Le Thu - Chairman of the Vietnam School Psychologists Network - deeply analyzed the role of recording, storing and managing school psychological records, considering this as the "second brain" to help psychologists intervene scientifically and effectively, while protecting clients and professionals themselves.
Ms. Thu also introduced in detail the forms according to Circular 18/2025/TT-BGDĐT; clarified core principles such as information security, flexibility in application, as well as content that can be adjusted to suit the context of each school. Clinical recording models such as SOAP, ABC, along with tools to support assessment and understanding of learners (lifetimeline, family tree, experiential exercises...) are presented specifically, associated with real-life situations.
The exchange - Q&A session focused on many practical issues such as: Confidence of psychological records; sharing information with the school board and parents; handling situations when students do not agree with taking notes; applying technology and artificial intelligence in document storage; as well as the referral process for high-risk cases.
The speakers agreed on the point of view: The application of technology needs to strictly comply with the principle of information security, not using student identification information, and at the same time affirm the irreplaceable role of professional ethics and legal responsibility in all professional decisions.
