Burning desire to start a business

In the 4.0 industrial revolution, the era of digital economy, knowledge economy, innovation and startups has become an inevitable trend, allowing many economies to break through and take off.

Over the past 10 years, the Party and the State have had many policies and guidelines to create the most favorable conditions and environment for startups and innovation. Regarding the education sector, the Government issued Decision No. 1665/QD-TTg in 2017 approving the Project "Supporting students to start businesses until 2025". This is an important driving force to promote the startup movement and ecosystem in educational institutions, especially universities and academies.

Deeply aware of the importance of entrepreneurship among young people and students, since 2014, with the support of VCCI, the National Startup Organizing Committee, the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture has had the initiative to organize the Agricultural Startup program - a program held annually with the goal of contributing to creating a stepping stone to promote the development of the Vietnamese startup community.

From this program, many start-up projects of young people and students have been realized into businesses, cooperatives, etc.; thousands of students have been trained and educated in start-up knowledge and skills.

Continuing those successes, in 2024, for the 10th time, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture organized the "Innovative Agricultural Startup" contest for students, high school students and young people nationwide.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Tiep - Deputy Director of Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, since the launch of the competition, the Organizing Committee has received nearly 110 startup projects from all over the country. After 2 rounds of competition, the 10 best projects were selected for the final round. This morning, December 26, the four best project teams competed.

"These are projects that are highly appreciated for their quality, creativity, and development potential. The finalists have been trained in business models, presentation skills, fundraising skills, negotiation skills, etc.

"I am extremely proud of the performance, the passion, the aspiration, and the entrepreneurial spirit that you have brought to the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture," Mr. Tiep emphasized.

Desire to manufacture products with Vietnamese brand

Winning the First Prize at the “Innovative Agricultural Startup” contest, the Agricutural Robot project (Automatic pesticide spraying robot) of a group of students from the Robotics and Technology Club (Vietnam Academy of Agriculture) received great attention.

The project comes from the desire to create products with Vietnamese brands, apply them in practice, improve capacity, quality and reduce labor costs. Agricutural Robot is a technological solution for sustainable agriculture, helping farmers operate their fields automatically, saving time and resources when operating robots.

"After winning the first prize in the startup competition, I feel very happy. Our project team has worked very hard to develop and perfect the Agricutural Robot product" - Nguyen Thanh Nghi - representative of the project team shared.

The male student said that the outstanding feature of the project is that the robot is equipped with a smart AI camera system, which helps identify diseased vegetable areas, thereby proactively increasing or decreasing the amount of spraying chemicals on the move.

GPS positioning helps the operator locate the robot's position, thereby programming the robot's travel route to operate fully automatically. At the same time, the robot is equipped with an intelligent spraying system that can adjust the spray angle, spray pressure, spray speed and spray flow. In particular, the robot can be controlled directly on a smartphone or remote control. And the chemical tank can help the robot spray continuously over 1 hectare.
