The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has just issued a document requesting educational institutions in the area to implement the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026, taking place from May 1 to May 31.
With the theme "Innovating management and improving the efficiency of occupational safety and health in the digital age", this year's activities aim to enhance awareness, responsibility and risk prevention skills in the entire education sector.
Notably, in addition to familiar items such as electrical systems, laboratories, and practice areas, the Department of Education and Training requests units to pay special attention to the kitchen area, canteen, and warehouse of supplies and chemicals, where there are potential risks of food safety and hygiene and fire and explosion.
Schools must organize a review of all conditions to ensure safety, promptly overcome or propose handling measures for risky points. At the same time, strengthen self-inspection and supervision of activities with risk factors in the teaching and living process.
At the same time, propaganda work is required to be implemented flexibly, in accordance with the reality of each unit. The content focuses on raising awareness of compliance with regulations on labor safety, risk identification skills, and accident prevention for officials, teachers, staff and students.
The Department also encourages schools to promote the application of digital platforms in communication to spread information, contributing to building a green, clean, beautiful and safe educational environment.
According to the plan, educational units in Ho Chi Minh City must seriously implement and coordinate with relevant agencies in the implementation process.
