On the afternoon of November 11, the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the art education unit of Sofia Art to organize the announcement of the "Vietnamese Moon Thanh" contest for the 2025-2026 school year.
The contest aims to spread the spirit of national pride and encourage the younger generation to stick with traditional music, creating a modern and attractive playground for students to express their national music talent.
The contestants are students from Ho Chi Minh City, aged 12-18, taking the individual or band competition.
This is one of the meaningful activities in the journey to bring traditional music closer to the younger generation, through professional, interactive, and emotional performance competitions.
The contest is not only artistic but also a source of lively inspiration, helping students understand more, love more, and be more proud of folk melodies, musical instruments and cultural nuances of Vietnam.
The contest consists of 3 rounds, in which the folk Lam Vuong round (sino-final) takes place from November 11-30.
After the preliminary round, the organizing committee will select 30-50 outstanding performances for the shining moon of Vietnam (idescent training). In this round, students are guided by a team of artists, traditional music lecturers and leading art consultants.
The 20 best performances will participate in the Final round - Viet Dieu Trang Thanh scheduled to take place on the evening of January 22, 2026.
Candidates participating in the contest can choose to perform musical instruments, sing, dance in folk arts such as Doctoral and Cai Luong, performance of traditional musical instruments, folk songs...
