On June 16, the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision on the establishment of the Branch of the University of Finance - Marketing in Quang Ngai province on the basis of the University of Finance - Accounting.
At the ceremony, the school also announced the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training to allow the branch to organize training activities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Tan Can - Deputy Minister of Finance, said that the establishment of the UFM Branch in Quang Ngai opens up conditions to strengthen training, scientific research and serve the socio-economic development needs of the locality as well as the Central - Central Highlands region.
According to Mr. Le Tan Can, the transformation process needs to ensure the inheritance of the achievements and traditions of the University of Finance - Accounting, while promoting the existing strengths of the University of Finance - Marketing.
The Deputy Minister requested the branch to focus on consolidating the organization, developing staff, upgrading facilities, ensuring training quality and strengthening linkages with local human resource needs.
Also at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Quan - Deputy Minister of Education and Training highly appreciated the school's completion of the conditions for the branch to be allowed to organize training activities in a short time after the establishment decision.
According to the school's leaders, the branch will implement training, scientific research and cooperation activities with businesses and localities to meet the human resource needs of Quang Ngai province and the Central - Central Highlands region.
Putting the branch into operation is expected to contribute to expanding access to higher education for learners in the area, while taking advantage of facilities, staff and training experience built over many years.
