On October 22, 2024, in order to strengthen the bilateral cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Australia, especially between the National Economics University and the Australian Embassy in the field of education and international cooperation; creating opportunities for students to meet and share knowledge, experience and vision in the fields of economics, politics, education and culture from the perspective of the Australian Ambassador, the National Economics University organized a talk between the Ambassador - Australian Embassy in Vietnam and students of the National Economics University.
The talk was themed "Economic strategy in the context of ASEAN and Vietnam - Australia relations: Strategy to enhance economic cooperation".

At the talk, Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Vietnam - shared: "Vietnam's current goal is to become a middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income developed country by 2045.
Vietnam has a real opportunity to escape the middle-income race and do what only a handful of other countries have done. But to do that, Vietnam needs an economy that is more complex than just manufacturing. Manufacturing in Vietnam currently does not transfer technology, does not create human resource development. In particular, it does not do much for infrastructure."

According to Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, a modern economy needs a modern risk management system, banking, capital markets, infrastructure, and insurance. "Vietnam needs consultants who understand modern management methods for economic and social governance for the private sector. And most importantly, a modern education system, not only university education but also technical and vocational education. All of these are important for the future of Vietnam" - Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski emphasized. According to the Australian Ambassador, this is an opportunity to help students learn and understand more about knowledge surrounding the economic field and cooperation between Vietnam and Australia. In particular, it opens up orientations in the field of training and future careers.
