Here are some ways to prevent hair from getting tangled and damaged while sleeping, shared by Dr. Apoorva Shah, founder of the RichFeel Trichology Center in India.
Remove cotton pillowcase
The cotton pillowcase naturally absorbs the hair's moisture and causes friction, which can lead to tangled and damaged hair. Instead, use silk and satin pillowcases as they are less likely to cause friction and damage hair less.
Hair Tet when going to bed
Hair Tet is a method of hair protection, preventing hair from breaking and strengthening hair structure. So keep your hair in a neat and loose position to avoid pulling the scalp tight, which can cause hair loss.
Don't sleep when your hair is wet
wet hair and scalp can make scalp susceptible to fungus and bacteria while sleeping. And hair will be weakest when it is still wet, easily causing hair breakage and dandruff. Therefore, you should let your hair dry before going to bed.
Brush your hair before bed
If you don't comb your hair before bed, the condition of pimples and knots on your hair will get worse. Hair is prone to breakage, damage and thinning.
Wrap hair with silk towel
Wrapping hair with a silk towel is a way to protect hair from friction and moisture loss. In addition, if you have wrapped your hair with a towel, you do not need to wear a hair bracelet.
