The herds ranged in size from a few to several dozen cows. Dozens of cows crossed the road, climbed the median strip to find grass in the open spaces. Many cows butted each other, chased each other, and ran straight into the middle of the road, forcing car and motorbike drivers to brake suddenly and swerve to avoid collisions.
According to the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, in the past, there was a lot of free-range livestock in this area. However, in recent years, the People's Committee of the ward has actively made specific plans, directed the ward's rules team to regularly inspect and mobilize households raising cows in the area to comply with the law on not letting livestock roam free.
Not only on the roads in industrial parks, many other areas in Da Nang city such as Hoa Quy and Hoa Hai wards (Ngu Hanh Son district), some communes in Hoa Vang district... also often encounter the above situation, causing danger to people when participating in traffic.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Kim Nghia - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City said that currently, the number of free-range cattle in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward has decreased significantly, but there are many cases of cattle in the surrounding areas such as Hoa Lien Commune (Hoa Vang District) flooding into Hoa Hiep Nam Ward.
“Because the handling of the districts is not yet synchronized, it is very difficult to handle. In the past, we have also regularly worked with the People's Committee of Hoa Lien commune as well as proposed many effective handling solutions that the ward has implemented so that Hoa Lien commune can apply. Therefore, the handling of free-range livestock requires coordination between localities to be able to thoroughly implement this issue,” said Mr. Nghia.
