On December 28, the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union confirmed that the unit had just sent dozens of teenagers who had violated the law, but not to the extent of being prosecuted for criminal liability, to experience Nghia An Prison (Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province).
Nghia An Prison, which belongs to the Ministry of Public Security, is a place where many prisoners are detained. Upon entering, the teenagers are taken to the prison area and the vocational training area.
Here, the prison wardens informed about the regulations of prison operations.
In particular, teenagers get to hear prisoners share lessons and consequences of committing crimes.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union - said that the retarded teenagers who went on a field trip to Nghia An Prison came from Cam Lo and Dakrong districts. When they entered the prison and met the prisoners, the teenagers could imagine the consequences of committing a crime.
“The purpose of the trip is to make young people aware that committing crimes will have serious consequences, and to consider it a lesson to wake them up. This is a way to prevent from afar, bringing high educational efficiency,” said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan.
