Kenh 7 Prison - Ministry of Public Security, stationed in Kien Giang province, has just held the 11th Prisoner Family Conference, with the theme "Joining hands, sharing and connection". The conference is not only an opportunity for families and prisoners to meet and share, but also shows the deep concern of the Board of Supervisors for the work of educating and reforming prisoners.
In recent years, Kenh 7 Prison has organized many practical activities to improve the quality and effectiveness of prisoners' education and reform; fully implementing the regimes and policies for prisoners in accordance with the provisions of law.
Organize the "Sensing on letter writing" Contest with the theme "Send an apology"; "Lighting up the belief", Aspiration for Rehabilitation" Program; Seminar, prisoners have a direct dialogue with young people, with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Kien Giang province... Organize classes on citizen education, legal education and teaching culture of illiteracy for prisoners. This has helped them have a full and correct awareness of the crimes they have committed and raise their awareness of law compliance.

Through this, prisoners realize their responsibility towards their family, relatives and the whole society. At the same time, on the basis of collecting comments from authorities and relatives of prisoners to help the Prison overcome the shortcomings, in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of education and reform.
Colonel Le The Ty, Warden of Kenh 7 Prison, emphasized: "The conference of prisoners' families not only helps families better understand the reform process of their relatives but is also an important bridge between prisoners and society. We hope that, with the encouragement and support of the family, prisoners will have the motivation to reform better, and soon return to work as useful people for society".
Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu, Deputy Warden in charge of Farm 1, shared: "Family affection is one of the important factors that help prisoners change themselves. We always create conditions for families to be able to accompany the process of educating and reforming prisoners, helping them have the right direction after serving their sentences".
This year's conference has many meaningful activities such as relatives of prisoners visiting the accommodation and living of prisoners, helping relatives better understand life in prison. Especially the intimate meal between family and prisoners, helping them have time to be close and share their feelings.
Mr. Phan Van Son, the father of a prisoner, emotionally shared: "This is the first time I have participated in the Conference and I am truly assured to see my children being well-managed and educated. Talking to my child helps me believe that my child has changed and I will always be there to help him rebuild his life".
Police officer Huynh Van Nhan, who is serving his sentence in Sub-District 2, shared: "Today, being able to meet my family and have a meal together, I am really happy. I feel that I need to try harder to not disappoint my parents and the care of the teachers. I hope to return and live a meaningful life in the near future."
On this occasion, Canal 7 Prison presented nearly 50 gifts to prisoners in difficult circumstances. These gifts were taken from the unit's "Golden Heart" fund to support and encourage prisoners to continue their efforts to reform well. In addition, officers and soldiers of Canal 7 Prison, along with delegates attending the conference, contributed to the "Golden Heart" fund to continue helping prisoners in especially difficult circumstances.
