Within the framework of the Conference to honor and reward individuals participating in neighborhood and residential group activities and to summarize the work of arranging neighborhoods in Tan Phu district on September 11, the reporter met Mr. Nguyen Duc Sang (Secretary of Party Cell 12, Tay Thanh Ward) - the pioneer with the initiative of the model "Loving Neighborhood Group" based on the spirit of using the people's strength to care for the people.
At the Conference, Mr. Sang was also one of the honored people to receive the City Badge and Certificate of Appreciation for individuals with many years of dedication to neighborhood activities.

Having participated in neighborhood activities since 1993, Mr. Sang has now been involved in neighborhood activities for 31 years. During his years of activity, Mr. Sang could not help but be proud when mentioning the model of "Loving Neighborhood Group" initiated by him and the Party Committee of Neighborhood 3.
Born in 2010, this model has now been replicated throughout wards, districts, and the entire city.
Based on the real life of some households in the residential group, from studying to illness, Mr. Sang and the collective of the residential group Party cell previously came up with a model based on the spirit of taking care of the people with the people's strength, helping each other.
The model has the effect of mobilizing on-site care for people in the neighborhood, strengthening neighborhood relationships, and contributing to solving self-management issues in the community.
“Although I am old, thinking about contributing to the people in the neighborhood and the community, I still try my best until I can't do it anymore,” Mr. Sang said.
Not only that, Mr. Sang also proactively proposed to the Neighborhood Management Board to mobilize households to contribute money to share with the people of the North facing difficulties due to the impact of super typhoon Yagi.
“I think this is the right thing to do, without waiting for anyone to speak up for us. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ho Chi Minh City residents received a lot of support from people in the North; now is the time for us to do something to help back,” Mr. Sang said.

Also this morning, Tan Phu District People's Committee proposed that the city honor 2,708 people participating in activities in neighborhoods and residential groups. It proposed to award State-level Certificates of Merit to 2 people, Certificates of Merit from the City People's Committee to 79 people, City Badges to 81 people, Certificates of Merit from the District People's Committee to 1,053 people, and Certificates of Merit from the Ward to 1,574 people.
Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Le Thi Kim Hong, Secretary of Tan Phu District Party Committee, assessed that in more than 20 years of establishment and development, Tan Phu District has had great contributions from Party committees at all levels, departments and unions from the district to the grassroots. Among them, it is impossible not to mention the great contributions of comrades at the ward level, ward executive committee, ward front committee... through the periods.
