To proactively and effectively implement measures to ensure food safety and minimize the risk of food poisoning, Khanh Hoa province assigned the Department of Health to monitor, urge and implement food security and safety work in the new situation.
The health sector strengthens food safety inspection and supervision, focusing on ready-to-eat food processing establishments, collective kitchens in industrial parks, food service establishments, restaurants in hotels, resorts, resorts, establishments producing and trading bottled and jarred drinking water, and ready-to-use ice according to management levels.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also requested the Chairman of the District People's Committee to be responsible for food safety within the area under their management. Over the past 3 years, there have been many alarming food poisoning cases in the area, including a serious food poisoning case at Ischool Nha Trang.
Specifically, in November 2022, at Ischool Nha Trang, a boarding school was organized with chicken rice, chicken salad, fried chicken wings, and chicken soup. After lunch, more than 600 students and teachers of this school were poisoned with stomachache, diarrhea, fever, and had to be hospitalized.
Among them, a 6-year-old student died. From 2024 to now, Khanh Hoa province has recorded 5 cases of food poisoning occurring in Ninh Hoa town, Nha Trang city and Khanh Son district, causing hundreds of residents, students and tourists to be hospitalized.
