Hundreds of meters along the coast of Da Nang Bay are covered with buckets, branches, and rotten firewood. Along with that are plastic packaging, plastic bottles, and household waste from all over the water flowing into the Han River mouth, drifting into the bay.

In this area, after each prolonged heavy rain, water from the floodgates flows into the sea, waves wash up a large amount of waste.
Along the beach, garbage is everywhere, many animal carcasses drift, giving off a foul smell, causing pollution and spoiling the beauty of the area.

Many visitors to this beach are also frustrated by the sight of tons of garbage surrounding the beach, giving off a foul smell.

Ms. Le Suong (Hoa Khanh ward, Da Nang city) said: "Usually I often go here to walk and exercise, but today I saw thick garbage and an unpleasant stench. The garbage is lined up on a hundred of meters long, not exposed to the sand for walking, if you want to go, you have to climb the garbage piles, many places where the waves blow up into large piles in the middle of the sea, which looks very polluted".

Amidst the messy trash, many people also took the opportunity to pick up large pieces of wood and dry branches that could still be used to bring home. After each flood, a lot of firewood washes up on the coast, they can use it as fuel or dry it to sell.

Environmental workers urgently clean up and work continuously from early morning to soon restore a clean and beautiful landscape to the coast.
Talking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches said that the unit is focusing on implementing the work of collecting and cleaning up waste that has drifted ashore after a major flood.
"Depending on the actual weather situation, we will increase machinery and labor to ensure progress. We take advantage of the weather to do as much as possible.
In the immediate future, focus on cleaning up on beaches with many people and tourists, and soon restore the green, clean and beautiful beach landscape," he informed.
