In 2026, Doan Ngo Tet falls on June 19th of the Gregorian calendar.
In folk beliefs, Doan Ngo Tet is also known as Tet "killing insects". The ancients believed that this is the time when the weather changes seasons, pests and diseases develop strongly, so it is necessary to perform rituals of worship, and at the same time use typical dishes such as sticky rice wine, banh tro and early-season fruits to pray for health and peace.
Today, although many customs have changed, Doan Ngo Tet is still an occasion for families to prepare offerings, offer incense to commemorate ancestors and preserve traditional cultural values.
