Exploiting the hidden secrets in the life of the Vietnamese family, the work brings together a cast of talented actors including Dao Anh Tuan, Thanh Hang, Ngan Quynh, Thanh Ngoc, Khoi Tran, Anh Tai, Dam Phuong Linh, PT Ngoc Diep, Bi Max, Tran Thuy Trang..., promising to bring many emotions to the audience.
The film "The Other Children" revolves around the family of Mr. Tung (Dao Anh Tuan) and Mrs. Hang (Thanh Hang) along with three children Trong, Duong, Duyen. The incident happened when Quoc Thien (Khoi Tran) suddenly appeared, affirming that Mr. Tung was the biological father. What surprised the whole family was that even Mr. Tung himself did not know who Thien was. From here, the shocking secret is revealed: Mr. Tung is actually Huynh Tri Long - a person who had to live for more than 30 years under the identity of his late best friend to escape an unjust case.
The appearance of Thien pulling the past back threatened to destroy the home that Mr. Tung had worked hard to build. The film raises big questions about family love, tolerance and how each member deals with the pain that has been hidden for decades.
Director Lee Nghia said he chose the psychological genre "family" because he was attracted to humanistic stories, many layers of the plot and full of surprising twists. According to him, each character carries a secret connection between the present and the past, creating a continuous, intense film flow.
The filming process also faced many challenges. The scene of arresting a phone robber in a crowded neighborhood had to be filmed 38 times because many people were standing watching. The section of burning the hut on the border had to be completely rebuilt, but the rain caused the recording to last until the next day. The crew also had to face muddy roads, causing difficulties for the mass cast.
The trio of Thanh Hang - Thanh Ngoc - Ngan Quynh appeared together for the first time in a long-running project. The director said that this was the choice from understanding and understanding in the previous working process. He highly appreciated the spirit, emotions and coordination between generations of actors, especially the psychological processing ability of Anh Tai, Thuy Trang and the flexibility of Dam Phuong Linh in long dialogue segments.
The film The Other Children has two versions of 45 minutes and 15 minutes, divided into three parts, broadcast daily from December 1, 2025.
