The Tet film "Tu Hai Phat Tai" (6 episodes, directed by Nguyen Minh Chung and Nguyen Hoang Anh) revolves around the story of the Tu Hai singing troupe - a once very successful singing troupe but facing a series of storms right from the first episodes. After 2 episodes aired, the film recorded nearly 900 thousand views with a 4.7 star rating, quickly entering the Top 10 trends (as of January 20).
The temporary leader of Tu Hai is An (played by Gin Tuan Kiet) and the remaining members must help the troupe through the year-end shows.
In order to revive the troupe, An and Tam (played by Vo Tan Phat) decide to recruit Lady Dao (played by Jun Vu) - a famous singer with a huge amount of interaction on social networks.
Behind the scenes of the film, when discussing lip-syncing, Gin Tuan Kiet's brother shared: "This is my professional ethics. The audience wants to hear my voice, so they go to the movies. If I turn on the audio to lip-sync, I feel like it's an insult to my profession and disrespectful to the audience. When I sing live, I sing from my heart, reach the audience, exchange energy and create sublimation. I've never lip-synced before."
On the other hand, Vo Tan Phat believes that, depending on the nature of each program, ensuring safety, sound and image quality requires artists to lip-sync or sing over.
“In my opinion, no one wants to lip-sync because it is their passion. On stage, they want to sing, to unleash their passion, to burn with the audience. Everyone wants to burn themselves out with their real voice” - Vo Tan Phat shared.
