In the new arrangement, DA MA brings the monochord - one of the typical traditional instruments of Vietnam into the strong rock music scene. The monochord performance is performed by young artist Phu An, a member of the "New Vitality Ethnic Orchestra".
Hung BlackhearteD - leader and producer of DA MA - said that the inclusion of the monochord in the "Trong com" remix originated from the desire to honor Vietnamese cultural identity in modern music. According to him, the monochord is not only a unique instrument but also carries a rich emotional sound, clearly expressing the cultural spirit of Vietnamese people.
Dan bau is one of the unique folk musical instruments that we can proudly introduce to the world. Its sound is very emotional and imbued with Vietnamese spirit," Hung BlackhearteD shared.
After a search process, the band chose to collaborate with Phu An - an artist who once attracted attention online with rock covers using monochord such as "Hotel California". This combination creates a special sound layer when the lyrical quality of traditional instruments blends with the powerful energy of rock.
The music production of the song has the participation of Tim Palmer - a famous producer who has worked with many international artists such as U2, Bon Jovi or Ozzy Osbourne.
Besides the music part, the MV "Trong com" is made in animated form with an artistic style that brings Vietnamese cultural colors but still retains the mysterious and mysterious spirit suitable for rock quality.


The image project has the participation of young artist Ta Vu Thanh Nha. Thanh Nha once attracted attention with the illustrative project "A dao - Tieng phach calling someone's soul", bringing a folk style mixed with magical elements.
In the MV, the story is built based on the spirit of the folk song "Trong com", telling about the love story between a girl and a boy carrying the "chi tang bong" bow. The image of the rice drum becomes a symbol of love between couples, while many details such as sparrows, spiders spreading strings or dim eyes are used to evoke the longing of those left behind.
Over the past time, DA MA has attracted attention when pursuing the direction of combining Vietnamese folk materials with modern rock. The band has performed on many international stages and became the first Vietnamese rock band to perform at the Whisky a Go Go stage, and also participated in the world tour of the Trapt rock group. These milestones are considered a remarkable step forward in the journey to bring Vietnamese rock to the world.
