Recalling the time when he started his acting career, Nguyen Le Ba Thang shared: "During my time in school, no one believed in me. I couldn't go to the casting because everyone said my face wasn't as pure as a Vietnamese person's."
It wasn't until director Xuan Cuong offered to participate in the project "Call the Dream Back", Nguyen Le Ba Thang immediately nodded in agreement without even having time to read the script. On the day of reading the script, the actor was nervous when he took on the role of a high school student even though he was about to turn 30 at that time.
With the movie "Sun Gate", he was loved by both male and female characters. For that reason, when the movie aired, the actor was labeled "purple", plus a series of these special roles always came to him.
Possessing a special face is a big challenge for an actor because he easily falls into unemployment. He said: "For an actor, when he is at an old age, not too old, not too young, it is easy to become unemployed, but I still Hopefully there will be roles suitable for my age."
Contrary to most actors, Nguyen Le Ba Thang is not afraid of looking bad when appearing in movies. To transform into an elderly character, he is willing to wear wrinkled makeup to fit the role.
Episode 29 "Artist's Life" will be broadcast at 7:15 p.m. July 28, 2024 on VTV9.
