To commemorate his talent, before the movie screening, the audience will watch a short video reviewing the illustrious acting career of the "picture king".
In the film, Lee Sun Kyun plays single father Jung Won, who is deputy security director at the Presidential Office. While taking their child to the airport to study abroad, father and son became one of the victims of the disaster on the bridge.
He perfectly portrayed the central lead role, becoming a bridge leading the audience along the character's thrilling steps of survival and emotional journey of psychological transformation.
The film is about a group of people trapped on a fog-covered bridge leading to Incheon International Airport. The bridge is on the verge of collapse after a chain collision and a series of explosions.
The group also witnessed themselves being hunted by a pack of mutant military dogs that escaped on the bridge, and they had to find a way to rescue themselves.
All developments are packed into 96 minutes, fitting the film's neat, dramatic rhythm but also not lacking in humorous and entertaining elements.
Many viewers were impressed with the late actor's smile looking back in the final scene. Many people think that this is a tearful goodbye smile he gave to the audience, when people could no longer see him on the big screen.
The plus point of the film lies in the special effects and graphics invested with advanced CG technology of Korean cinema. The film impresses with many majestic and realistic scenes.
But few people know that the film's special effects also have contributions from a Vietnamese crew in the stages of data arrangement, production and VFX (visual effects) combination.
The movie "Secret Project: Disaster on the Bridge" is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
