Miss Huynh Tran Y Nhi just took on the role of speaker for the first time at the TEDx event held in Gia Lai. In front of a large number of students from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, the beauty presented a speech entirely in English, sharing about her journey of maturity and experiences that helped her change her perspective on life.
Instead of mentioning many titles or achievements, Y Nhi chose to tell her own story. The beauty talked about her time studying abroad in Australia, when she first lived away from her family, both studying and working part-time to cultivate self-reliance and accumulate experience.
Y Nhi said her first job was selling shoes in a store for a month. That seemingly simple experience helped the beauty queen understand more about the value of labor, while learning to adapt to new environments and grow up from ordinary things.
From her personal story, Y Nhi sends a message that anyone will go through precarious stages on the journey of maturity. According to her, instead of rushing to find perfect answers, young people need to be patient with themselves, constantly learn and bravely move forward. Besides, family and loved ones are always important supports to help each person overcome difficulties.
One of the touching moments at the program was the appearance of Y Nhi's father and younger sister in the auditorium to cheer for her on her first time on the TEDx stage. The family's companionship helped the beauty's sharing become closer and more emotional.
After the program, Y Nhi said she was happy to have the opportunity to tell her story right in her hometown and hoped that personal experiences could add faith to young people who are struggling on their journey to adulthood.
