The teaser poster recreates the breathless moment of the two characters played by Quang Tuan and Hoai Lam: they are stuck in a dark underground sewer, dirty water pouring from above, underneath is a thick layer of garbage with rambling rat and cow and insect. Both of them were covered in mud, covered with wounds, and their eyes were shocked but still held a small flame - a symbol of fragile hope in the world's hell.
The producer revealed that this was not just a promotional image but a real scene of the film. To create a sense of authenticity, the crew rebuilt an underground sewer section at an apartment building in Ho Chi Minh City. For many hours, Quang Tuan and Hoai Lam had to soak in cold water, always in a state of bowing or squat because the space was too tight. Every time the director shouts "acting", water is pumped down, garbage and even live mice are brought in to recreate the environment where the victims were trapped while finding a way to escape.
Quang Tuan said this is an life-threatening camera experience, although he had crawled underground in a previous film, he never had to film under a real sewer, with garbage, mice, and cockroaches right next to him. "The scene of returning home to bathe still has a burning itch. But everything is worth having a framework that matches the character's emotions," he shared.
For Hoai Lam, this is the most challenging role ever. The actor said that having to keep the emotional flow in an environment is too harsh, making each scene a test of endurance. "Mr. Tuan guided me a lot. Thanks to that, I did not lose my psychological rhythm when filming each scene in that crowded space, said Hoai Lam.
Blood Paradise is directed by Hoang Tuan Cuong. The film is scheduled to premiere on December 31, 2025.
