If the CERAMICS collection once resounded with inspiration from silk paintings by artist Nguyen Phan Chanh, this time LACQUER is inspired by the lacquer art heritage of artist Nguyen Gia Tri. The Vietnamese modern artist once brought traditional lacquer materials into the language of contemporary painting, reflecting the beauty of people and the scenery of the homeland.
From that spirit, Phan Dang Hoang created 30 designs with basic artistic structures but complex construction techniques, like layers of multi-layer lacquer, creating a unique depth and lighting.
In particular, LACQUER marked a turning point in the personal brand of the designer born in 2000 when for the first time combining both men's and women's fashion in the same collection. I want to affirm that the craft skills and beauty of Vietnamese culture are not limited by gender, space or time, Phan Dang Hoang shared.

The main materials including My A Lanh silk, silk silk, rice paper... are hand-processed, combined with a hot red - yellow color list, evoking the image of the sacred "f sugar". According to the designer, even the name LACQUER when pronounced near the "f flag" also contains national pride, in harmony with the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
In 2024, Phan Dang Hoang made his mark when he became the first Vietnamese designer to bring his personal brand to Milano Fashion Week. He has continuously won many awards such as the Cultural Young Face of VTV Awards, Breakthrough Designer of the Year at Luxuo Asia Awards, or Promising Face at Black Carpet Awards in Milan.
Following the success, Hangsilk continues to play an important role in realizing the common idea with Phan Dang Hoang. Representative of Hangsilk said: "We and Phan Dang Hoang share a common vision - preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese art and culture through fashion. With LACQUER, we believe that international friends will love the country and people of Vietnam more.
With LACQUER, Phan Dang Hoang not only affirms the courage of a young designer but also contributes to spreading the spirit of creativity and national cultural pride on the world's leading fashion runway.
