The first image from the film shows the actor posing as a cyclo, wandering on a rope, creating curiosity about the role that is introduced as the most challenging in his career.
The film "Con thu ba nghe" marks Tran Thanh Huy's return to the big screen after his success with "rom", but this time he did not directly direct but took on the role of creative director, accompanying his close friend of more than 10 years - director Do Quoc Trung. The film exploits the theme of father-son love, set behind the scenes of a circus, an art world that is rarely brought to Vietnamese screens.
As a face often considered the "flowers" of domestic cinema, Kieu Minh Tuan has continuously transformed over the years through many types of roles, from humorous to inner-city. With the film "Con ke bo nghe", he continued to try his hand when transforming into a circus artist with a brilliant costume, standing in the middle of a magical circus space. According to the crew, this character requires physical performance, circus techniques and intertwined emotional performance, promising to bring the audience scenes that are both fun and touching family emotions.
The producer said that Con ke ba nghe has a love - family color, aiming at the healing and understanding process between generations, while still ensuring the entertainment element thanks to the circus art scene. The release date also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Circus Federation (January 16, 1954 - January 16, 2026), which is considered a tribute to the artists who have quietly practiced and contributed joy to the audience.
Behind the project is an experienced crew. Director Do Quoc Trung, born in 1990, graduated from the Faculty of Film Directing at Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. He once attracted attention with the short film "The condolence" winning the Silver Kite 2021, along with the projects "The uniforms", "The Day of the Dragon", "Knock on, Open"... screened at many Asian and European film festivals.
Taking on the role of film director is Nguyen Vinh Phuc, born in 1990, graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema. He is a familiar face through the works "Em va Trinh", "Vi", "rom", having won the Best Screening award at the Golden Lotus 2021, the Best cinematography award at the 2021 Asia Pacific Screen Awards and nominated at the 2025 Taipei Film Festival.
The film also features People's Artist Hoang Huu Muoi ( stage name Phi Vu) - who has been involved in the circus stage for more than 47 years, was Deputy Director of Phuong Nam Arts Theater, professional advisor and coach of circus performances for the crew.
The film "Con trai ba nghe" with Kieu Minh Tuan and the cast will be widely released in theaters nationwide from January 16, 2026.
