"Unfortunately Revealed" is a movie in the horror genre that is a hit in Indonesia. The movie script was written based on a real case that happened in 2016 in Cirebon city, West Java.
The birth of "Unfair Soul Report" attracted public attention and thanks to social pressure, the case was reopened and transferred to the provincial level for further investigation.
The two unfortunate victims are Vina Dewi Arsita and her boyfriend Rizky Rudiana. Both were determined to have died after a motorbike collision. However, the two victims' phones and motorbikes were still unusually intact, with no signs of a collision.
The case became more thrilling when three days after Vina's death, one of her friends was possessed by a ghost. This friend said that he was Vina and that it was not an accident.
Vina, in the body of her close friend, confided that she had been abused, tortured, beaten in the head with a wooden stick and then killed by members of a motorbike gang.
Accordingly, the case was re-investigated and 8 out of 11 suspects were arrested. Three other suspects, including Pegi Setiawan - the leader of the suspects' gang are still at large.
After "Retribution of Wrongful Soul" bombed at the box office, the case was turned over again.
A testament to the appeal of "The Unholy Soul" is the 7th place on the list of highest-grossing domestic films of all time in Indonesia.
After three weeks of opening, the film recorded 5.8 million tickets sold, becoming the second most popular film this year at the Indonesian box office.
The movie "The Unholy Soul Reported the Crime" is expected to premiere in theaters nationwide from August 2, 2024.
