For singer Doan Trang, Tet always brings a feeling of warmth and happiness. As a native of Long Khanh, Dong Nai, she shared that every Tet, no matter how busy she is, she still tries to return to her family.
As an artist, Doan Trang often performs live on television everywhere, usually after New Year's Eve she returns home, sometimes welcoming New Year's Eve right on the highway.Despite her tight performance schedule, from the West to Hanoi, she still tries to return home right after each show. What touches her most is the image of her parents always waiting for her to come home, to enjoy together the precious reunion atmosphere of spring. She expressed her happiness: "I feel happy when I come home, my parents are always waiting for me".
Doan Trang revealed that her small family always cleverly arranges time to celebrate Tet for both paternal and maternal sides. If New Year's Eve is an occasion to reunite with her husband's family in Sweden, then on Lunar New Year, the whole family returns to Long Khanh.
Her foreign husband not only quickly integrated but also respected Vietnamese culture, from preparing lucky money envelopes to participating in traditional customs. She happily shared that her husband is always proud to be a part of a Vietnamese family. In particular, the greeting “Happy New Year” in Vietnamese is always the first thing he says to his family and friends during Tet.
Tet for Doan Trang is also indispensable for traditional dishes such as banh chung, banh tet, pickled onions and braised pork.Although her parents are old, every year they still prepare delicious jars of pickled onions for their children and grandchildren to enjoy and bring home after the reunion.
Busy schedule, Doan Trang still comes home to celebrate Tet with her family
