With 6 award-winning works that Italy brought, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dat - Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema expressed that this is a valuable opportunity to exchange and learn about international cinema in the context of the city implementing a strategy to develop the cultural industry, especially cinema.
Within the framework of the film festival, director Antonio Termenini shared that 4/6 films are feature films, giving the audience in-depth and interesting perspectives on contemporary Italian cinema. From films shown by female directors - such as the Oscar-winning film Vermiglio, the young director - such as the film Diciannove, he hopes that filmmakers will be inspired to create creativity, while having a deeper appreciation of the people and culture of Italy.
The film festival opens with Vermiglio - the work that won the Silver lion Award, the Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival and is Italys official representative to the 2025 Oscar.
After the opening day, 5 works were shown, respectively Diciannove, La Vita Accanto, Nonostante, Hey Joe and Gloria!. The event lasts until October 31.
