Life’s So Drama is the first and only Drama Club founded and maintained by students and alumni of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. In recent years, after Life’s So Drama received more attention and interest, the Club has expanded its scope of activities to high schools in Hanoi, with the help and sponsorship of Mr. Cao Van Dung - a teacher at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.
Following the success of countless previous performances, Life's So Drama has cherished the plan to carry out "LSD On Stage" - an annual drama stage and also the biggest activity of the Club. Receiving the support and attention of the audience from On Stage 2016: "Frollo" - LSD's first On Stage play, On Stage 2019: "Di Hoa", On Stage 2020: "Huyen Anh" to On Stage 2022: "Vien Mong" and most recently "Khi Troi Noi Gio" (2023) - the beauty of the youthful years in the dreamy land of Hue.
This year, Life's So Drama makes a spectacular return with the play On Stage 2024: "Five Thousand Miles". Set in distant Russia, the play follows Vietnamese children living far away from home, living amidst the cold and harshness of a foreign land. Duong, Thanh, Truc and Mai, each with their own circumstances and dreams, but all share the same desire for a bright future, where big dreams come true. Life in a foreign land is full of difficulties, temptations and heartbreaking choices. Although hope is very fragile, they accept to trade many things including youth and love, just with the desire to achieve their goals. The play is a story about the struggle between dreams and reality, between the desire to change their lives and the deep nostalgia for their homeland, so that in the end, they realize that what they are looking for is not only material success, but also the true meaning of family and love in life.
On Stage 2024: “Five Thousand Miles” held at Au Co Art Center - No. 8 Huynh Thuc Khang, Ba Dinh, Hanoi will take the audience back in time with countless emotions and passions, promising to leave many impressions in the hearts of viewers with this traditional art form blended with modern breath.
