The official poster, trailer and many behind-the-scenes information were first released, introducing to the audience the black comedy genre - which is quite new to Vietnamese cinema.
Screenwriter and curator Nguyen Thanh Binh shared that the project was developed from the original idea until completion and faced many challenges, but the crew was proud to invite two veteran stage artists Ai Nhu and Thanh Hoi to participate. The film exploits a family relationship torn apart by expectations, prejudices and unspoken things, when a seemingly warm birthday party becomes a place to face the truth and a chance to heal.
At the event, the crew suddenly organized a birthday party for artist Ai Nhu with a cake and a familiar cabinet prop in the film, creating an emotional moment. In addition, the MV "First Time becoming a Mother" (original name of the Bitter Medicine Cup), performed by Uyen Linh, composed by musician Chau Dang Khoa, was filmed in parallel with the film and played the role of "pre-story" and was also introduced.
Artist Ai Nhu said that this was the first time she took on the lead role in a movie and accepted because of her affection for the crew. Artist Thanh Hoi revealed that he immediately accepted because he admired the determination of screenwriter Binh. Actress Hong Anh affirmed that it just needs to be a project of Binh Bong Bot, if the role is suitable, she will participate.
Young actress Kim Hai shared about two special scenes, including a funeral scene that coincided with the real loss in real life. Tin Nguyen said that he focuses on living in the character, not putting too much pressure on revenue. Samuel An revealed that the role of Doctor Quang Tai will be the most obvious villain in his career.
