"Stolen Happiness" part 2 (42 episodes, director: Nham Minh Hien, screenwriter: Thanh Huong) is a TV series with a heated discussion on social networks.
Before the news that the film reached 4 billion views on all platforms, unable to hide her joy, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy shared: "I could not imagine this because just 1 billion views is a happy number for filmmakers, let alone spend 4 billion...".
In the film, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy plays the role of Mrs. Chat - a mother who feels inferior because of poverty and cannot care for her children to the point of being blind in compensation, ready to do impolite and meaningless things.
She listens to all the requests of Thien Nga (played by Quynh Luong) - her biological child who refuses her, while mistreating and even harming Binh An - her adopted child who loves her like her biological mother.
Known as "the most frustrating mother on Vietnamese screens 2024", Mrs. Chat makes the audience "blood-heat" every time she appears. This is also proof that Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy's talented acting has convinced not only her colleagues but also the audience.
Dedicated to the role, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy did not hesitate to film in harsh terrain, harsh weather or perform real "physical interaction" scenes. The female artist once fainted on set while filming a traffic accident, being chased away by Thien Nga on her wedding day.
These are not only difficult scenes in the film but also the moment Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy was unconscious in real life after many hours of filming under artificial rain in the 13-14 degrees weather of Da Lat.
"The rain fell for several hours in a row, and as soon as the scene was cut, Ms. Thuy collapsed. Everyone rushed her to carry her to the fireplace, drink ginger tea, she woke up and still decided to continue filming. Everyone was shy, their faces were shaky, and they could only hug each other to keep them warm. When mentioning the rain scene, I am still haunted" - actor Dung Bino revealed.
Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy added: "I don't wear very thick clothes like Mrs. Chat, and I don't have good cold endurance. Although I have equipped myself with an additional heat retention layer inside, because I have to dry it in the rain for a long time to have the best frame, my body cannot take it anymore....
Despite the incident, the female artist quickly recovered and continued to complete the filming that night.
The film airs on the VieON application at 8:00 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and airs at 6:50 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on VTV9 channel.
