The film brings the colors of simple life through "the tea life of farmers in Bao Loc land".
The film features Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh, Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen, actors Vo Dinh Hieu, Huynh Anh Tuan, Pham Hy, Tam Hoang... And especially, the participation of artist Thanh Hien.
“Huong Tra” exploits the theme of family, about the conflicts of interest that a tea farming family in the land of B'Lao (now Bao Loc) has to face.
They unfortunately failed in farming, causing them to be in debt, were trapped and plotted to sell their ancestral land, were torn apart by rash calculations, and then luckily found happiness again thanks to never giving up on their homeland tea trees.
Tea trees have been attached to and supported many generations of families in this land famous for its hometown specialties. However, in the face of economic benefits, tea is just an "outdated" tool that lives off its old reputation, and is being oppressed by Mr. Hao (played by Meritorious Artist Cong Ninh) - a businessman who once got rich thanks to tea, who now turns around to oppress farmers.
Mrs. Hien's family (played by actress Thanh Hien), typical of the working class farmers who make a living by farming and processing scented tea, remains steadfast in their roots and pride in their homeland.
Despite the tricks to occupy the land, occupy the entire tea garden for real estate business (Mr. Hao), Mrs. Hien's kindness and dedication to protecting the tea trees like protecting "family members" helped her two children Doan Phi and Moc Tra understand and overcome temptations.
Besides a filial, witty, straightforward Doan Phi (played by actor Vo Dinh Hieu), who has "quicker hands than brain", there is still the adopted daughter Moc Tra (played by Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen), full of personality and extremely profound.
Having a connection with the highlands, actress Thanh Hien continues to return to the role of mother - the loving center of "Huong Tra"; she persistently sticks to the land, preserves the profession, and keeps the fire burning for the younger generation.
The female lead role Moc Tra is performed by Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen - depicting the character's inner thoughts surrounding the events encountered in life. On the outside, she appears carefree but on the inside, she loves life very much. Moc Tra shines with inner strength with the mindset of starting a business, overcoming poverty and overcoming difficulties.
