The film brings the audience an emotional story about family love and the true connection between people in the technology era.
In particular, the first on-screen collaboration between artist Hong Dao and Quyen Linh left many echoes in the hearts of viewers. They play Mr. An - a motorbike taxi driver with Alzheimer's disease and Mrs. Binh - the owner of a popular barber shop, who has been quietly affectionate with him for nearly 30 years.
The climax when Ms. Binh begged: "Forgetting whoever you are, don't forget me!" made the audience choked up. It is not only a late confession, but also the voice of many elderly people: afraid of loneliness but even more afraid of bothering their children.
Hong Dao with her sweet Hue voice and sincere acting has emotionally transformed into the role of a loving woman. Quyen Linh, in the role of Mr. An, shows a rustic, straightforward but equally sophisticated look.
In addition to emotional love, Chi Minh City also sends many messages about the value of presence and true care between people, when "clearing a deal" is not only an act of buying and selling, but a choice of commitment and companionship. The combination of technology and emotions, along with the inner acting of two veteran artists, makes the film a work worth watching.
The movie Chot Don is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
