"Borderlands: Return to Pandora" is adapted from the hit game of the same name with 77 million copies sold globally and profits exceeding 1 billion dollars.
In the film adaptation hosted by Lionsgate, the audience will see the game's key characters such as Roland, Lilith... along with a series of familiar NPCs Claptrap, Dr. Patricia Tannis and Tiny Tina.
The film revolves around Lilith (played by Cate Blanchett), a bounty hunter with a mysterious past who reluctantly returns to her homeland, which is also the most chaotic planet in the Pandora galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramírez), the ultimate power in the universe.
Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with a group of eccentrics. Roland (Kevin Hart) is an experienced mercenary. Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt) is a crazy teenage girl with her protector Krieg (Florian Munteanu). Patricia Tannis (voiced by Jamie Lee Curtis) is a quirky scientist and eventually Claptrap (voiced by Jack Black) an intelligent robot.
They must fight a series of strange creatures and crazy enemies on this planet to discover Pandora's most shocking secret.
Famous for its humor, madness and violence, "Borderlands: Return to Pandora" when it comes to the big screen will still retain the spirit that made the video game version a success.
Features such as vaults containing treasures or the ability to set up weapons and guns will also be included in the movie.
The movie "Borderlands: Return to Pandora" will be released on August 23, 2024 in theaters nationwide.
