In Vietnam, the film is distributed by Beta Distribution. The film marks the emotional return of Korean cinema with a story about family love and recovery from loss.
Based on the Sewol ferry sinking tragedy in 2014, the film Untold words recreates the collective pain that once haunted the Korean people. During the premiere at the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III), director Lee Sang Hoon shared: Every year on April 16, the entire Korean nation commemorates the victims. That motivated me to make this film."

The story revolves around the family of housewife Yeon Jung, who was devastated by the shock of losing her eldest son. While each member tries to hide their own pain and purpose in life, the secrets gradually push them away. Only when the truth is exposed, can the family learn to face it, find love again and fulfill unfinished promises.
According to the director, he wants to bring a brighter perspective to the family psychological film genre: Korean cinema is often discolored with sadness. But through "The Unspoken word", I hope to send a message of hope, making the audience both emotional and warm".
The film attracted attention thanks to its talented cast. Kim Hye Eun - a star familiar to audiences through Itaewon Class - returns as a gentle but determined mother. In addition, Kim Pub Lae and Kim Bo Yoon also contributed to depicting a family picture with many injuries but always eager to heal.
The movie The Untold Story has a world premiere at DANAFF III, with the choice of Vietnam as the first international destination. Director Lee Sang Hoon explained: There are many harmonies between Vietnam and Korea about family concepts. I want to start the film journey from a close place about this spirit".
After receiving many positive responses at DANAFF III, the film will officially be released in Vietnam from September 19, 2025. This is an opportunity for the audience to experience a work rich in humanity, touching the most sacred values: family love, loss and healing.
